Incrementality

in

When INCREMENTALITY takes a trip he packs a big bag, knowing that it may be awhile before he gets where he is going. He likes to take the road less traveled so that he can breathe deeply, notice, and enjoy the journey.  He doesn’t usually wear a watch, choosing instead to go at the speed of the body.   Once, in the black of night, he got lost.  Instead of panicking, he just used tiny steps to retrace his path and led himself out of trouble.  “One step at a time” is the advice he can be heard giving anyone about anything.

Incrementality is one of twenty-one cards in the Interplay Inspiration deck created by Anita Bondi.  Each card has a symbol and a story to help you unlock the wisdom of your body and remind you that life doesn’t have to be so hard!

This deck’s round cards and trendy tin packaging are easy to use and fun to carry around everywhere you go!

As you pick a card, feel free to be silly or serious. Have a practical question in your mind, a sacred intention in your heart, or a whimsical feeling in your body! After choosing your card, read the story on the back (unless it is a WHEEE! card), and then look up the card in the booklet. The story on the card will offer imagery and analogy. The text in the booklet will provide teachings on the particular principle from The InterPlay System (developed by Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter). The booklet will also invite you to “try this”, suggesting practical applications for your daily life. What are you waiting for, jump in!

Decks are sold at Wellspring Holistic Center or online.

Different Truths

lotus

There are lesser truths.

There are partial truths.

There are higher truths.

And there is a whole TRUTH.

The lesser truth is once you wake up it no longer matters how you act or behave.  It is not you who ‘acts,’ you are not the body or mind.

The partial truth is once you wake up and see the perfection of what is already here, there is absolutely nothing to do and no longer anyone here to do it.

The higher truth is once you wake up there is a much greater responsibility towards everything you do, think, say, or act.

The whole Truth is you are

Nothing and Everything,

and you cannot overlook one for the other.

Peace Today?

“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”

~ Henri Nouwen

Stillness

stillness

When Stillness is around everyone has a different response.  Some people are able to relax instantly by her side, while others seem to squirm and wiggle, uncomfortable with her lack of movement.  She doesn’t have trouble with any of it.  In fact, she completely understands.  At one time she was a Type A personality who ran a Fortune 500 company.  She worked 16 hours a day, and rarely took a vacation.  When her sister was diagnosed with a serious illness, she stopped everything and went with her to a retreat center for a month of silence and meditation.  That changed her life.  Now stillness owns a small bookstore.  She reads, writes, naps, and has never been happier.

It Does Not Matter

img_1020

Whatever you choose to do it does not matter!

Whether you make a hundred sacred pilgimages to the temples in the east, or travel no further then where you were born. Bow down in prayer morning, noon, and night faithfully, or never touch the ground.  Or maybe you are more the type to be found legs hot entwined with a lover getting intoxicated on union.  Everyone creates their own meaning out of no meaning, and that does not matter.

There is life moving through life,

You are that life

That is all you need to KNOW.

WHEE!

I swear I will not dishonor my soul with hatred, but offer

myself humbly as a guardian of nature. a healer of misery,

as a messenger of wonder, as an architect of peace.

Peace Necklace ABD

What do we do when we feel stressed? Shoulders tighten. Jaw clenches. Vision narrows.

Simple Thursday tools for giving yourself some peace:

1. take a deep breath and hold it for a count of 4, then exhale like you are blowing through a straw

2. Repeat number 1 – at least 3-7 times

3. Take the scrunched up place between your eyes with your thumb and forefinger and then throw your hand up in the air while yelling, WHEE!

4. Repeat number 3 – many, many times.

If all else fails, come into Wellspring Holistic Center and have a cup of tea, book a session, or just get a hug.
