Pilates Fusion:

Imagine an exercise program that you look forward to, that engages you and that leaves you refreshed and alert with a feeling of physical and mental well-being. The Pilates Method of body conditioning will do all this and more. Developed in the 1920’s by the legendary physical trainer and founder of the New York Pilates Studio, Joseph H. Pilates, The Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility and strength for the total body without building bulk. Not surprisingly, some of the first people to use the Pilates Method were dancers such as Martha Graham and Geroge Blanchine. The Pilates Method is not just exercise, however. It is a series of controlled movements engaging your body and mind. Our instructor, Anita Bondi, is certified by the Pilates Physicalmind Institute.

Anita is also a certified personal trainer so the class often incorporates light free weights, exercise bands, and foam rollers. Every class is different. Expect to be challenged as well as aligned.

Class cost is $12- drop in rate.

About Anita Bondi:

Pilates saved my dance career, my massage career, and maybe even my life. I was diagnosed with multiple herniated discs and bulging discs in my lower thoracic spine and lumbar spine and told I would never dance again. Part of my healing was the study of Pilates alignment, principles, and matwork. It took me about five years to become almost pain free and now after a decade of study and teaching I wake up most days ready to dance, run, and work long days on my feet. I have studied at the Pilates Physicalmind Institute in NYC, and with Pilates teachers all over the country. I also hold a certificate in personal training and like to help my clients work with kettle bells, TRX, free weights, exercise bands, etc. all while engaging through neutral pelvis and scapular stabilization. I love breathing and think my work as a breath missionary may truly one day save the planet!
